Main League Rules & Playing Conditions

Match Duration: 40 overs each innings.
Bowlers: restricted to a maximum of 9 overs.
Declarations: not permitted.
Matches starting late: Captains must agree a reduction in overs at a rate of 2 (1 per team) for each six minute delay in start time after 14.30. A minimum of 50 overs (25 per team) shall be played.

Matches not conforming to guidelines are void.

Match Cancellation: No game shall be cancelled due to bad weather until midday on the day of the match unless prior consent of due representatives from both clubs has been obtained.

Reporting Match Results:
The home side is responsible for advising ALL results, including cancelled and abandoned matches as follows:
- e-mail (results@kcvl.co.uk) completed scorecard by Noon Monday.
- failure to meet reporting deadlines results in a financial penalty.
Player Eligibility: Players must be paid up Club members. 
Players are  ineligible if:

  1. they are or have been a contracted professional at County, County 2nd, Minor County (or equivalent overseas) level during current or two preceding seasons, or
  2. they receive direct or indirect payment from their club. 

There are further rules covering overseas players.
POINTS SYSTEM
Win: (team scoring most runs, regardless of wickets lost) 10 points plus Bonus Points earned. Tie or Tied Draw: (where scores are level regardless of wickets lost) 5 points plus Bonus Points earned.
Loss: only Bonus Points earned Cancelled or abandoned match: 5 points to each side (plus any Bonus Points earned).
Bonus Points: Batting - 120 runs scored - 1 point; 160 runs - 2 points;  200 runs - 3 points; 240 runs - 4 points. Bowling - for taking 6 wickets - 1 point; 8 wickets - 2 points; 10 wickets - 3 points; an additional (4th) point for dismissing the opposition for less than 120 runs when bowling first.
Void matches: no points are awarded to either side
Failure to fulfil a fixture: Opponents awarded 15 points
