Outwood Cricket Club President’s Day – Friday 30th July **UPDATE**

President’s Day this year shared the stage with a much more momentous occasion which was the official opening of the new pavilion.  The President’s XI included David Nash of Middlesex and for the club our head coach Joey Benjamin of Surrey and England took to the field. Lunch was taken early from midday, the match itself started at 2:30 p.m. and during the tea interval the opening ceremony took place.

The 30th July saw the official opening of the new Pavilion performed by Monique Hill and Liz Cutter. The ceremony took place during the tea interval of the President's Day match and many of those who have supported the project over the years were there to witness this historic event. Pictures are now on the website, Click Here to see them. As to the match itself, the final result was an honorable draw with scores equal at 255 as Outwood chased the President's XIs target losing eight wickets in the process. The Outwood XI was strengthened by the inclusion of our junior academy head coach Joey Benjamin of Surrey and England and the President's XI by David Nash of Middlesex.
