WE NEED YOUR
HELP
This year we need
you and every other member to apply your mind, your efforts and your support to
our fundraising. We need to ensure that our efforts are well co-ordinated.
We have a Fundraising Committee but their role is not to raise all the
money. They are pursuing potential external sources of funds but their overall
role is more one of co-ordination. They need to know about your ideas and plans.
Your Committee will also play their part by ensuring that Club continues to run
efficiently and making sure that our normal operations and events continue to
contribute to our target.
WAYS YOU MAY BE ABLE
TO HELP
The additional
effort has to come from you and your fellow members. We need your ingenuity but
here are some simple ways you may be able to help:
·
can you
capture your fellow members’ and friends’ imagination by asking them to
sponsor you in some way or another? Tony Reason has raised £380 so far on his
epic trek to
Annapurna
and David Rose’s equally heroic efforts – well for three fences anyway -
should be inspiration enough. What can you come up with?
·
would your employer be prepared
to make a donation? Some companies even have specific schemes through which
money can be made available to organisations their employees support.
·
would your
employer be interested in hiring our ground to stage a cricket match?
·
could you
organise a cricket match, a six-a-side competition, single wicket competition or
some other sporting or social event that would raise some money?
·
do you have
any items of small or great value that you would be prepared to donate or sell
for our Club’s benefit?
·
if it
proves to be advantageous to our Club, would you be willing to offer an interest
free loan?
TAKE ADVANTAGE OF GIFT
AID
At
this time of year we always ask you if you would like to make a donation to Club
funds. This year donations will obviously assume a far greater significance.
We are now officially
registered by Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs as a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC).
Gift
Aid works by providing Income Tax Relief on their gift or donation and allowing
the recipient CASC to reclaim from HMRC income tax on the gift.
The
amount of tax benefit depends on whether the individual pays tax at the basic or
higher rate. In both cases the Club will receive £28.20 for every £100 given
in the form of a tax rebate from HMRC.
Furthermore,
in the case of a higher tax rate payer, £23.10 will be refunded for every £100
he or she gives. This means that between the Club and individual they could
benefit from a total tax refund of over £50.

SUPPORT YOUR
COMMITTEE, FELLOW MEMBERS AND CLUB EVENTS
In this year where
we need your utmost support, we implore you also to support your fellow members
in their fundraising efforts, your Captains and your Committee.
We also unashamedly repeat how you can help in simple ways as
part of your regular membership of the Club by:
·
paying your
subscription promptly by the due date 31 May latest
·
paying your
match fees & tea money every week on the day without fail
·
making
yourself available to play (and supporting the bar!)
·
and
supporting Club events – please plan ahead, make a note in your diary and
commit yourself to attending.
These are the easy ways of raising money that will all help
to increase our income and contribute towards our goal.
Please Contact Your
Fundraising Committee Members To Discuss Any Ideas Or Offers You May Have In
