2007 Junior Academy Open Day
Saturday 21st April
The
Cricket Club was blessed with perfect weather for the launch of the 2007
Junior
Cricket
Academy
, now entering its third year. Club Captain Ian Milton said that "about 50
children have registered for the programme which includes regular coaching
on Thursday nights and competitive cricket matches for under 9 and under 12 age
groups."
All the Children were thrilled to meet
their new head coach Joey Benjamin of Surrey and
England
who was “impressed with the enthusiasm of those children present”.
Children over 12 are very welcome but we are unable to offer regular competitive
matches at the moment. There will be opportunities to play senior friendly games
as availability allows.
Last
year Outwood competed in an under 11 league under team manager Andrew Norman and
finished runners up.
